No I am talking about the rumored 3.0 firmware for the current gen 1 A1. There were rumors regarding another update this fall. I think it was from alpha rumors. It’s an all new camera. Oh I get it. That may happen but that wouldn’t be the same firmware an a1MK2 is running. I’d just like to get a autofocus fix for what has transpired from the past updates. I fully realize they’re not going to add any features but they can at least fix the issues they created.Oh I get it. That may happen but that wouldn’t be the same firmware an a1MK2 is running. I hate to burst your bubble but the only firmware updates the current a1 is going to get at this point is bug fixes. There will be zero new features.
That I suspect will happen but I’d worry it still doesn’t fix issues. From my experience the a9III updates have been great but I won’t do my a1’s anymore until it’s well proven the update is stable and makes improvements.I’d just like to get a autofocus fix for what has transpired from the past updates. All the updates I’ve did on the 6700 and A7RV have went fine. Not sure why they can’t get the A1 right. It’s just odd that it doesn’t affect all of them as well. That I suspect will happen but I’d worry it still doesn’t fix issues. And it being their co flagship it’s a bit crazy the resources to get it right either haven’t been utilized or continue to fail. All the updates I’ve did on the 6700 and A7RV have went fine. Not sure why they can’t get the A1 right. It’s just odd that it doesn’t affect all of them as well.
Yeah definitely a bummerAnd it being their co flagship it’s a bit crazy the recourses to get it right either haven’t been utilized or continue to fail.
They need to fix this, my A1 is all over the place when tracking Kestrels in flight, use to get almost perfect sequences with my old firmware version now it's all over the map for me, really disappointed with Sony but also myself for updating the firmware.I’d just like to get a autofocus fix for what has transpired from the past updates. I feel exactly the same and this is one of the primary reasons I won't be getting a second generation. It speaks volumes to me whenever a company just doesn't seem to care whenever they create a problem. Not to mention, this is their flagship camera! At one point I owned two of these and ended up selling one to get the A7RV because of focus bracketing. They need to fix this, my A1 is all over the place when tracking Kestrels in flight, use to get almost perfect sequences with my old firmware version now it's all over the map for me, really disappointed with Sony but also myself for updating the firmware.
