Sorry I haven’t had the time to look at this site in a while, dealing with snow. I can’t remember but probably D500 and 500pf. I will correct myself if I’m wrong. What lens and camera? The eyes are as sharp as a knife...

COOL!I don't want to take over but I want to share one more honest to goodness walking around shot from October 1st last year. I had my D500 with a Tamron 18-400 lens and was walking along the river behind our place hoping to catch some Beaver's out of their lodge. I usually see them with very low light so I had a tripod. On my way back home I spied a Great Horned Owl land up high in a spooky looking Russian Olive tree. I also noticed the waxing crescent moon was rising and would possibly transition the tree so I set my tripod and waited. As it got darker and the moon moved closer after a few set up shots I got my Owloween photo. Again not gonna win awards but pretty fun for me just walking around.

Rich, Beautiful series!Just thought I'd share some the bird species I came across while out on a walk this early 2021 spring day. Nothing particularly special about these images, but it made me stop and think. Wow, nature sure does have an incredible color pallet.
The Starling picture was a first for me. I have seen (and heard) these birds a couple of times before but they always stayed way up high in the trees. My first decent look at one.
Happy shooting this spring!!
Rich

Wow Hut! No bad for a little walk! So what do you think?I notice a lot of people really like the D500/500PF combo so I thought I would put mine together and take a walk down to the Frenchman Hills tonight and here is what I saw.
After the DeNoise treatment that is.
Thanks I do prefer the D850 but it’s ok. Seems to be less noise on the D850 but this is manageable. It was low light and I only saw a couple birds flyby so didn’t get enough to evaluate bifWow Hut! No bad for a little walk! So what do you think?
Nice shots, Hut! I have the 850 and a D7200, and have been wanting to replace the 7200 with a D500, mainly for the autofocus system, image processor and buffer. The trouble is that I wonder if I still may lean toward the 850 for wildlife. I have had my D500 for a long time but personally I enjoy the D850 more so the D500 collects a lot of dustNice shots, Hut! Your trumpeter swan is awesome
Fantastic image, great job capturing that moment with both birds sharp. Nicely done!Timing, and luck, worked for this one:
