I got bored this morning, hoping to see some birds in the rain.

These were shot using a 300PF. Much like the 500PF, the 300PF "feels like" it focuses noticably faster on the Z9 that it did on my D500 or D850. These don't show it, but this lens is also uber-sharp on the Z9.

Some more video I tried this past weekend, with the 500PF in 4k 120fps 2.3x crop mode - handheld - AFC + Wide Area L
Very windy, bird was about 100-125yds away, some heat waves (very cold morning that heated up about 30deg that day) and I'm still quite novice at filming lol
Overall I feel like it did a good job. There are a couple of very quick spots where focus is pulled away, and that could honestly have even been my fault a couple of times.

Love it

Was it with AFF or AFC mode?

I am finding that animal tracking in Wide L AF followed by 3D tracking does eye detection and holds the eye pretty well on dark eyes in both elk and bison; I had anticipated more trouble with dark eyes on dark heads. Bison: Z9, 1.4TC, 600mm f/4E, 850mm, 1/2000s, f 5.6, iso 720; elk: Z9, 600mm f/4E, 600mm, 1/640s, f/4, iso 2200.
