Looks like I got a delay until tomorrow due to weather conditions in the place it stopped (Columbia, SC) before getting to Myrtle Beach. Oh well tomorrow is good!

Arrgh. I would have to drive to Melville. Mine is still in the shop and this isn't want I want to hear.....Just cross your fingers you don't get the same tech working on your camera as this guy did (NY) over on FM forum....what a nightmare:
"I Got My Z8 Back From Nikon Today Boy Am I Pissed They Broke It"
But after some heated discussions with a manager in person in NY he at least got some resolution although without being able to go in person I doubt this would have ended well:
"I Went To Nikon This Morning Am Getting A New Camera"

It is probably a very rare one off case. We shall see as more people get their cameras back.Arrgh. I would have to drive to Melville. Mine is still in the shop and this isn't want I want to hear.....
Agreed - and let us hope so....It is probably a very rare one off case. We shall see as more people get their cameras back.
Congrats, and thanks for the timetable. Are you NPS?Nikon Z 8 Recall Timetable:
Shipped to Nikon: June 24
UPS delivered to Nikon NY: June 28
Recieved Nikon Service Acknowledgement with Service Order #: June 30
Shop Status: June 3
Shipped from Nikon NY: June 6, Estimated Delviery Date: July 11
With July 4th being holiday, was in "shop" status for 2-3 days, not to bad of a turn around.
Not NPS, Received Service Order email June 30.Congrats, and thanks for the timetable. Are you NPS?
Mine has been in the shop since 6/28 (2 days sooner than yours) so maybe I need to make a call.
Any other getting theirs back from NY? When did you get the Service Order email?
My West Coast experience was that they didn't reset my camera settings during the service. I wonder if that decision is decided by the individual technician?I got my Z8 back today. I was a bit surprised the UPS required no signature for it. I was disappointed that they reset the camera settings. I wrote them a note and asked them to leave the settings alone. Thankfully I followed Steve's advice in the Z8 shooting guide and saved a copy of my settings. Loaded everything back in and I am in good shape. Thanks Steve !!!!.. Saved the day for me. I was not looking forward to starting all over again.
use the web site. it seems like emails are not going out. see this post on how to track status from their web site: https://bcgforums.com/index.php?threads/nikon-z8-service-advisory.25630/post-292202UPS says my Z8 was signed for by agent in NY Service Center on 07/03, I have not received any email confirmation from Nikon as of yet, I don't want to hassle them but curious how long I should wait before I contact them and ask for verification of receipt and that my body is in the repair queue. Thoughts?
Focuses perfectly.As Lance said above:
So your camera should be able to focus just fine after the mount has been adjusted.
Thank you for that, I checked out the link - https://repair.nikonusa.com/en/approval/ApprovalLogin but unfortunately I have not been given a Service Number, I only have a case number from when I submitted for the service, I tried using my Case Number as the Service Number but it tells me "Login Failed". I decided to give Nikon Support (USA) a call and they said they are still processing received shipments from Friday June 30th today and to allow 1-2 business days (because mine arrived on Monday 07/03) for my Z8 to be processed in the system, at that time they will send the email with the Service Number that I can begin tracking in the above link.use the web site. it seems like emails are not going out. see this post on how to track status from their web site: https://bcgforums.com/index.php?threads/nikon-z8-service-advisory.25630/post-292202
I would say that mine was packed secure enough for normal shipping transport. The camera was first wrapped in plastic, then bubblewrap and then placed in the middle of a box filled with styrofoam peanuts.Members that have received their Z8 back from service, just curoius, how well the camera was packed in return box?

Maurie,I contacted my dealer today and was told "if it's working OK, do nothing" - I asked for that to be ratified by the Nikon importer here in New Zealand, and I'm waiting on them. Mine's working A-OK with all lenses, all TCs and LM-NZ adaptors.
Nikon NY received my Z8 the morning of 6/28. Still no email. When I called today, I was told the shop was closed Monday and Tuesday and to wait one more day. If no email by 3:30 pm (when the shop closes for the day) tomorrow, I am to call again and they will try to trace it, but that will take several days.Thank you for that, I checked out the link - https://repair.nikonusa.com/en/approval/ApprovalLogin but unfortunately I have not been given a Service Number, I only have a case number from when I submitted for the service, I tried using my Case Number as the Service Number but it tells me "Login Failed".
